Girls heartthrob Christopher Abbott makes fashion debut in romantic film for Free People (but leaves the modelling to his female co-star)

He's better known as adorably sincere Charlie on HBO's Girls, but now actor Christopher Abbott has teamed up with Free People to star in a short film advertising its collection.
The three minute video sees Mr Abbott spending a loved-up day in New York with a brunette beauty before he has to leave on a red-eye that night.
The film has been launched in conjunction with the fashion label's February catalog.

Ro-sham-bo: In the three minute rom-com - launched in conjunction with Free People's February catalog - actor Christopher Abbott plays a game of rocks-paper-scissors with his co-star to determine their fate
In the mini rom-com - the title of which, Roshambo, is another name for rocks-paper-scissors - Mr Abbott and model Sheila Marquez are led on a whirlwind romance in New York City.

The pair first run into each other in the early morning when the 27-year-old model - wearing a black trilby hat and a grey tribal print bag - is on her way home from a yoga class.

Short-lived: Mr Abbott - whose lovestruck character is a traveling band member - asks the brunette beauty to spend the day with him until he has to leave that evening
Mr Abbott, who plays a touring band member on a stop in Brooklyn, appears smitten with the Spainish beauty and they agree to meet for coffee an hour later.
The two play roshambo to decide if Miss Marquez will spend the day with him - which she does - and they use the game several other times throughout the day to decide what activities they will do.

Though the film appears to take place all in one day, Miss Marquez manages to change into several different outfits, all from the Free People collection.
Some of the looks include different floaty tops and dresses, lots of bohemian-style jewelry and two different hats.
The whimsical film sees the couple walking hand-in-hand through New York's boroughs.
In one scene, Mr Abbott's character buys his co-star a bouquet of flowers.

Another shot shows them playfully getting their pictures taken in a photo booth.
The romantic short - featuring music by Lord Huron - is the first installment in a series of films that will be launched by the label throughout the year.
In the final scene, the film shows the loved-up actor despondently hailing a cab to the airport.
At the last minute, he turns to Miss Marquez and they play a final game of roshambo, presumably to decide whether he will leave at all.

Saying goodbye: In the final scene, the actor hails a cab to the airport before playing one last game of roshambo with his co-star, presumably to determine whether he will leave. The result is left a mystery

The result is left unclear, leaving viewers anxious to watch the next installment in the series.
In the first season of Girls, Mr Abbott, a native of Stamford, Connecticut, played Charlie Dattolo - beautiful but uptight Marnie's doting boyfriend.
The couple have broken up in the second series, but Charlie is still a principle character on the show.
